Salutations to my ULTIMATE Chinese Chicken Slow Cooker Extravaganza from Slimming World. This recipe was created especially for my SP Days on Slimming World and is completely Syn Free. It's sticky and full of real Chinese flavours—perfect for when you want Chinese food but don't want to feel guilty about eating Syns.
I know how you'll respond. Sloppy Chinese stir-fry prepared in a slow cooker? Yes, it is true! And you will be tempted to have seconds because it is so amazing. For the most part, Chinese stir-fries are made with olive oil and a variety of seasonings, which can unintentionally add a lot of Syns to what is meant to be an extremely nutritious dish.
But there's no need for oils if you use the slow cooker, as I did. Just toss everything in, blend, and come back a few hours later to enjoy this delicious meal. Full of crisp veggies (and chicken), it's so filling you don't even need noodles, so you won't feel cheated on your SP day.
You can also try it with prawns, pork, or beef. Put the veggies and the selected protein in the slow cooker, and presto! It's dinnertime. We chose to use our slow cooker on the high setting, but you can use the low setting and extend the cooking time.
In this manner, you can prepare it ahead of time and come back to a delectable dinner. Just stir everything together in your slow cooker and serve, rather than reaching for whatever you can find because you're hungry.
The Greatest Slimming World Chinese Chicken Slow Cooker
Greetings and welcome to my ULTIMATE Chinese Chicken Slow Cooker Extravaganza for Slimming World.
INGREDIENTS:
Slow Cooker
Two chicken breasts
One Medium Courgette
25 g of spring onions and 1 red pepper
Five tablespoons of soy sauce
One tablespoon each of pureed garlic and ginger
2 tsp of Five Spice Chinese
One teaspoon each of salt pepper and coriander
INSTRUCTIONS:
Slice the spring onion thinly after cleaning.
Cut the courgette and red pepper into dice.
Chop the breasts of the chicken.
Mix everything well before adding it to the slow cooker or Instant Pot. Simmer for four hours on high.
Serve.
Notes:
My boys said, "Absolutely delicious but not enough," after supper today. They think the portion size is for two, but I think it's enough for four. I'll step aside and let you decide who is correct and incorrect!
For this recipe, we used the Instant Pot's slow cooker setting. Conveniently, it was already out and offered a simple substitute for the conventional slow cooker—it automatically set to 4 hours.
